30B Community Service Team Organizing Meeting

The volunteers of 30BARACK have made a very positive impact since the '08 election through their many successful community service efforts, including a toy drive and clothing drive over the holidays, a hugely successful blood drive, clothing drive and watershed restoration for the National Day of Service in January, a great Earth Day tree planting event in April, the Memorial Day Soldiers Angels event to help our wounded troops in May, a health fair that served hundreds in South Los Angeles for the National Health Care Day of Service in June, and a blood drive and firefighter/police 'thank you' event for September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance.

Witnessing the impact of those events has only inspired us to do more--but WE NEED YOUR INVOLVEMENT!

Please come to our 30B Community Service Team Organizing Meeting, where we will discuss planned upcoming events (environmental event in October, Veterans Day Soldiers Angels project in November) as well as brainstorm new events in various areas such as education, hunger, homelessness, veterans, environment, health care, etc. People will be encouraged to pursue their interests and create great community service events for the entire 30B membership to participate in, all with the resources and experience of 30BARACK to support them.

Let's continue to improve our city and our neighborhoods and help our fellow citizens! Let's be the change!
