Its time to Get-Out-The-Vote again!!!!!

30BARACK's Government Relations Committee is running a GOTV effort for the May 19th Special Election. After the abysmal 13% turnout in the March 2009 election, this is your chance to keep our group engaged and properly represented, and make sure more voices are heard in making our laws and electing our government representatives. Join us this Saturday to PHONEBANK to 30BARACK members--we will be informing everyone about the state props and local candidates on the ballot as well as encouraging them to vote.

While national elections set the tone, local and statewide elections have just as much, if not more of an impact on our daily lives. By our group turning out the vote within our large membership base we can have a huge impact on this election.

Note to members: 30BARACK is not endorsing any candidate or proposition. Our volunteer phonebankers will have information supplementing the call script about what each proposition is about and what a yes and no vote means. We will also have a list of the candidates for each relevant election and a little blurb about the positions they've held if people need information on them. We simply want to inform and educate our members, and encourage them to go out and exercise their right to vote.
